HISTORY AND EVOLUTION OF THE HOUSE
CASA BLUMER - A Zurich family villa
The Blumer family originally migrated to Zurich from the inner part of Switzerland in the 17th century.
Great-grandfather Sean Blumer established a mechanical business downtown Zurich at Claridenstrasse.

The growing factory moved out to Oerlikon, on still agricultural land then.
The young entrepreneur needed a family home not too far, so a little villa caught his eye...
A polite letter exchange finally ended in the buy of the villa on two plots of land.

The "First generation": Grandfather Hans (1906-1991) and grandmother Olga Blumer in their office, 1946.

2018, when Chris Blumer took over in Third generation, the roof had become leaky and the electrics too old...a lot of work!

In 1983, daughter Verena Blumer took over in Second generation and made major renovations in 1984 - an outside chimney was added and also the conservatory.
But time passed on...

The roof was stripped and a new house added for the owner, along with a renovation of the entire property.
Lots of work later, I proudly present and conserve
CASA BLUMER.
